What’s New for 2020
REI Saver and Choice Medical Plans
Effective January 1, 2020, if you choose a brand medication that has a generic available, you’ll pay your generic copay, plus the difference in cost between the brand and the generic medication. This extra cost will apply even if your doctor writes “Dispense As Written” (“DAW”) on your brand prescription.
If you use a brand-name medication, talk to your doctor or pharmacist about switching to a generic to avoid paying more. For questions about your plan, log in to express-scripts.com or call 1-800-462-5916.
Habilitative physical, occupational and speech therapy for autism and developmental delay will be covered without any visit limits.
Habilitation therapy services are services that help you keep, learn or improve skills and functioning for daily living (e.g., therapy for a child who isn’t walking or talking at the expected age). These services have to follow a specific treatment plan, ordered by your physician. For more information about therapy services, click here.

The out-of-network deductibles will increase for the REI Saver and Choice Medical Plans. The out-of-network deductible only applies when you or a covered family member receives services from an out-of-network provider.

Health Care and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs)
Effective July 15, 2020, you have until December 31, 2020, to submit eligible 2019 claims for reimbursement through your Health Care FSA or Dependent Care FSA. Contact WageWorks for details.
You can also increase, decrease or stop 2020 deductions for your Health Care FSA or Dependent Care FSA without a qualified life event. Go to hr.REI.com; if prompted to log in, enter your REI username and password.
The adoption assistance benefit increased from $3,000 to $7,500. All REI Benefits Plan-eligible part-time and full-time employees who have worked for REI for 12 consecutive months are eligible for this benefit. For information on applying for reimbursement, click here.
