Access and San Francisco Medical Plan
Access and San Francisco Medical Plans Ending December 31, 2026
The Access and San Francisco medical plans will no longer be available in 2027; coverage under these plans will end on December 31, 2026. If you’re enrolled in either of these plans, review your other options below and watch for additional communications with next steps.
What This Means for You
Your next steps depend on your average hours and whether you become eligible for REI’s full benefits plan.
- If you’re averaging 23 or more hours per week: You’ll receive a communication with information about enrolling in the full benefits plan, including timing, available coverage options and any actions you need to take.
- If you’re not becoming eligible for the full benefits plan: You may choose from other coverage options, including the Options Plan, coverage through the Health Insurance Marketplace or COBRA continuation coverage, if eligible.
Coverage Options If You’re Not Moving to the Full Benefits Plan
- Enroll in the Options Plan: Review the Options Plan to determine whether it meets your coverage needs for 2027.
- Enroll through the Health Insurance Marketplace: Losing employer-sponsored coverage may allow you to enroll in Marketplace coverage during a special enrollment period. You can compare plan options and see whether you may qualify for savings based on your household income.
- Contact Alliant Individual Health Solutions at 1-844-299-1128 for one-on-one concierge support to find, talk through and navigate other health care coverage choices, such as a Marketplace Insurance Plan or government plan and determine what level of care is right for you. State and/or federal subsidies may be available.
- Information about REI’s coverage: You’ll need these details to complete your application for coverage.
- Use the Kaiser Subsidy Calculator to estimate your eligibility for subsidies and how much you could spend on health insurance.
- Elect COBRA continuation coverage: If eligible, COBRA may allow you to continue your current medical coverage for a limited time after the Access or San Francisco plan ends.
