You’re in the right place to review current elections, enroll, change or decline benefits. See below for details.

Life Events

If you have a life event such as marriage or the birth of a child, you have 30 days from the date of your life event to make changes to your benefit elections. If you miss your 30-day window, you will need to wait until Benefits Open Enrollment to make changes.

Are you a New Hire or Newly Eligible for Benefits?

  1. Go to hr.REI.com. If prompted to log in, enter your REI username and password.
    • If you have not been issued an REI device (laptop or mobile phone) or you are not using a breakroom computer, you will need to sign in using your special Employee Self Service login.
    • The username of this account will be your primary username + “.ess” (example: username.ess).
    • If you need assistance or need to reset your password, please partner with your department manager or a member of your management team. Alternatively, contact the Service Desk at 1-800-999-4734, option 3 or email helpdesk@rei.com to reset your password.
  2. Navigate to Home > Myself > Life Events and select the appropriate life event.
    • Example: If you are a new hire or newly eligible for coverage, select Life Event LE01: Newly Eligible – Full Benefits Plan.
  3. The system will walk you through your options. Be sure to have Social Security numbers on hand for your family members if you plan to enroll them in health coverage.
  4. When you’re ready, submit your choices and print your confirmation statement.

NOTE: If you enroll in health coverage for a dependent (spouse, life partner or child), you will be required to verify that your enrolled dependents meet eligibility rules under REI’s health plan. This process will be managed by our third-party vendor, Verifi1. Failure to provide sufficient documentation within the given time frame will result in the removal of your dependent(s) from REI sponsored health care coverage. If it is determined that a dependent does not meet the eligibility requirements as defined by our plan, the dependent(s) will be removed from the REI-sponsored health care coverage.     • Example: If you are a new hire or newly eligible for coverage, select Life Event LE02: Newly Eligible – REI Access Plan.
  3. The system will walk you through your options. Be sure to have Social Security numbers on hand for your family members if you plan to enroll them for health coverage.
  4. When you’re ready, submit your choices and print your confirmation statement.
    • If you have questions or need help, contact the Employee Service Center at 1-800-999-4734 or email hrhr@rei.com.

NOTE: If you don’t take action by the deadline included in your benefit materials of the email from hrhr@rei.com, you will not have coverage and will not be eligible to enroll again until Open Enrollment 2027 or if you have a qualifying life event.

View Your Current Benefit Elections

Already enrolled in REI benefits? Follow these steps to review your current benefit elections:

  1. Go to hr.REI.com. If prompted to log in, enter your REI username and password.
    • If you have not been issued an REI device (laptop or mobile phone) or you are not using a breakroom computer, you will need to sign in using your special Employee Self Service login.
    • The username of this account will be your primary username + “.ess@rei.com” (i.e., username.ess@rei.com).
    • If you need assistance or need to reset your password, please partner with your department manager or a member of your management team. Alternatively, contact the Service Desk at 1-800-999-4734, option 3 or email helpdesk@rei.com to reset your password.
  2. Select Home at the top left-hand corner. Click the Myself tab > Benefits > Benefits Summary to view your benefit elections.
