Mid-Year Total Rewards Updates

What’s Changing?

Beginning in July 2026, we’re making the following mid-year updates to our Total Rewards package. All changes are effective July 1, unless otherwise noted:

Retirement Savings

Beginning with the July 3 pay date, the co-op will transition from an employer contribution to a company match structure. If eligible, you can receive up to a 4% match when contributing at least 5% of your pay.

Sick Accrual

Sick time will accrue at 1 hour per 30 hours worked for all employees; hourly and exempt. For compliance and consistency, caps and carryover limits may meet or exceed state or local laws.

Vacation Accrual

Accrual schedules will vary based on hire/eligibility, timing and years of service. REI will preserve existing balances, though accruals will pause when the maximum balance is reached.

Vacation Cash Out

At time of termination, vacation will pay out only when required by state law, or for an involuntary termination in good standing.

Holiday Pay for Part-time Employees

Beginning with Labor Day, September 7, 2026, if you’re a part-time employees, you’ll continue to receive 1.5x pay when you work on an REI-observed holiday. Holiday pay will not be provided to part-time employees who work or do not work on an REI holiday.
